WEIGHT SPECIFICATIONS

At Rockport, we show the Dry Weight of the unit on a label inside of the driver’s door. This weight does not include the driver or passenger and the fuel the truck can carry.

The maximum total vehicle weight, measured at the tire ground interface, for which the vehicle possesses components adequately rated to safely carry. The vehicle can never exceed the sum of the GAWRs.

The value specified by the vehicle manufacturer as the load carrying capacity on a single axle system, as measured at the tire to ground interfaces. The axle can never exceed the rating of the GAWR.

The entire weight of a vehicle at the ground with a trailer, equipment, driver, fuel and payload. This rating is provided by the chassis manufacture; please see your dealer or chassis manual for this rating.

Each Rockport unit is weighed at the manufacturing facility prior to shipping. A label identifying the dry/ship vehicle weight of the actual unit is applied to every Rockport unit prior to leaving our facilities. You can find this label on the Driver Side B-Pillar.

The load capacity of your unit is designated by weight, not by volume, so you cannot necessarily use all available space when loading your unit.

Actual towing capacity is dependent upon your particular loading and towing circumstances, which includes the GVWR, GAWR and GCWR as well as adequate trailer brakes. Please refer to the Chassis Manual of your vehicle for further towing information.
